I know this is not modus opereandi these days, but for some genres, like the more advanced wargaming circles, it still persists. To me a good manual/written scenario description etc. i would have liked a manual and historical background material more like an expanded "tactical guide" from the deluxe ed. Actually playing the game seems straightforward enough to not warrant any instructions. Like unit tables, tactics, interesting background information on the scenarios etc. But like i said earlier, it's not so much "learning" the game i feel a need for in a manual, but more the "fleshing out" and added detail of the game. This is a decent "reference" for the basics of course. I'll bring the issue up tomorrow (today being public holiday in France).
